| HANS E BERGESTOL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) has had an awful start to the season, domestically and internationally, but seems to be coming back into form and rode to a fine GP victory in this meeting with his 16 points lifting him 5 places up the overall standings and just 3 points behind the 8th place rider overall. HAYDEN WOOD (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) also produced a fine round, finishing 2nd here, and he made up ground on everyone above him to put himself 4th overall, just 4 points behind the series leader. Behind Wood in this meeting but above him in the standings were DAVID BEDFORD (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) and GABRYS IRZYK (FALMOUTH FALCONS) who are joint second and just a point behind the series leader after 3 of the 8 rounds. |
| Although they missed out on a Grand Final appearance it was a good meeting for both FILLIPPE CHONG (WANTAGE KINGS) and STEEN ERIKSEN (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) who moved up 6 and 5 places respectively with 13 points each in this GP moving them both into the top 8 overall. BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (MILTON KEYNES CATS) managed a solid 9 points which, whilst seeing his lead cut, was enough to maintain his place at the top of the overall leaderboard. The final rider to take part in the Semi Finals of the Australasian GP was RUDI JURITZEN (OLSO OWLS) although his 7 points didn't really do much to help his overall position, the Norwegian is still very mcuh in touch with the top 8 spots at this early stage though. |
| NICK AMBROSE (WANTAGE KINGS) and BRAXTON MCCHESNSEY (SHEFFIELD DONS) scored scored solidly but both will need to improve to push into the top 8 spots whilst former champion LIAM REAY (TILBURY DOCKERS) had another average meeting by his standards and is tied for 8th overall. BORIS DVOYNEV (WEDNESFIELD WANDERERS), HENRIK HANSEN (HAMPDEN EAGLES) and LUKE TREADWELL (TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS) scored 5 each but will be hoping for better as the series reaches the halfway stage after the next round. TIBOR NEMECEK (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) only scored 4 points although, like Hansen, he manages to cling on to a place in the top 8 overall. The Wild Card pick for this meeting went to DENNIS GROVES (AMSTERDAM ANACONDAS) with the reserve having impressed when called on in the previous rounds; sadly he wasn't on the pace here and after dropping out of the top 8 overall probably hasn't done enough to justify another wild card pick for the next round. CHRIS ADAMS (AMSTERDAM ANACONDAS) was called upon for a single reserve ride but couldn't make any impressed as he trailed home last in his single race. |
