| A shock in this one as GP star Fillippe Chong failed to make any real impression after a first race fall which left him looking a little shaken before he recovered with a pair of heat wins. Fortunately, as a permanent GP rider, he doesn't need to qualify for the GP Challenge so other than failing to reach the rostrum in this meeting, for a second season running, no real harm was done. The title went to BART WILLIAMSON with DARREN MOORE beating BRAD EASTY (winner of this title last season) to complete the rostrum places. The other spots in the GP Challenge were taken by JOSH MONTSACH and RYAN IRWIN after they beat Rickie Keyse in a run-off. Jason Isaacs was unlucky to suffer a retirement in his second heat and will be hoping the GP committee look kindly upon his misfortune when selecting their 2 wild card picks for the GP Challenge Semi Finals. Pat Watkiss was another rider who was hoping to progress but he faded in the latter stages and fell a point short of having a chance in the run-off. |
